“Everything starts within ourselves”

A great philosopher in the name of Rene Descartes once said,”Conquer Yourself Not The World”.What does he mean by this?Do we need to conquer the world before ourselves?Are we obliged to do something in order to change the world we live in?The answer is no,a huge and resounding no.

In relation to that,there are verses from  the Bible in chapter 7 of Matthew that is pointing out on the same subject.According to this verse,we should not be trying to take the straw from other people’s eyes when we ourselves have a rafter in our own eyes.Meaning to say,before we look at other’s situations and set of actions or  try to change them,we must take a closer look at ourselves first and make a change if necessary.

The truth is,we cannot change the world and all the people around us at a glance.We cannot easily affect other’s preferences and beliefs and all other things that comprise our world.However,we can start the change from ourselves as individuals and conquer ourselves rather than the world.Besides,there is no one else who knows us better except for ourselves.We are the ones who are responsible for taking control of ourselves.By having known ourselves fully from strengths to our weaknesses,likes and dislikes,we can continuously reinvent and improve ourselves each passing day,thus,conquering ourselves.By doing so, the world will be conquered too,little by little.
